My name is Teddi Rene' Jackson. I am the owner and operator of Paraphernalia University. I started this business in 2010 because, as a member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. it was a struggle to find paraphernalia that was cute, custom, and convenient. I started researching t-shirt printing, supplies, and equipment.
This may not seem like such big deal but in 2010 companies like Teespring were just getting started and I didn't trust that they could help me solve the problem that I needed to solve. I purchased my first heat press and began to learn.
My biggest success came from creating custom apparel for Black Greek Letter Organizations and cheer gear for local competition cheer organizations. My mother, an entrepreneur herself, allowed me access into the cheer world when she started her own XLC ( my son's initials) which later became Xquizite Allstarz.
After lot of success followed by a string of life challenges, including losing my mother to Cervical Cancer, it became necessary to move into the e-commerce to rebuild the brand and continue my mission to give HBCU graduates access to apparel that represents their entire experience during their matriculation and their lifestyle post-graduation.
Thank you for joining me on this journey as I learn to navigate the digital space and bring the quality that we have maintained for 10+ years to our growing community of HBCU students and Alumni.
